Sharp Villa Apartments, a 126-unit apartment complex located at the Northeast corner of SE Marine Drive and Fraser Street has sold for $11,750,000, or $93,250 per unit. The 3-storey building is located on a 1.2 acre site and has several retail units on the ground floor.
I’ve read that this apartment complex is known for bedbugs, roaches and mice. Could you please let me know if this is true?
Yes. True.
There used to be a real problem with Sharpe. But this is before Peterson bought the buildings and took over management. They spent $35000+ to have the entire buildings treated. They also have done lots of work on the interiors and exteriors of both buildings. The prev. owner caused the bed bug infestation because he was a COMPLETE MORON and should be prosecuted for the things he did.
The building was poorly managed for many years. The company is under both new ownership and management and has undergone major renovations/repairs during the last 1.5 years. This has included a completed refurbishment of the exterior facade, updated lobbies, new roofing, updated common area hallways, and interior unit updates. Pest issues are present in every building – at the end of the day it is how ownership/management reacts to these issues that is most important. Current ownership/management is committed to making this a clean, safe and enjoyable place to live.
Don’t kid yourself. Just because they popped for a pretty exterior, and some parts of the interior the quality of enjoyment has gone down greatly. Camera’s are everywhere! I am extremely annoyed that they put them in the hallways. And Vyra will use anything she captures on those cameras to get you evicted. Bedbugs and roaches are still rampant throughout both buildings.
