Concert Acquires Translink’s Southeast False Creek Site for $47,000,000

Concert Properties has closed on a three-acre site on Quebec Street at East 1st Avenue in the Southeast False Creek area of Vancouver for $47,000,000.

The site was listed for sale by Translink last year as part of the sale of several surplus properties  to generate funds for a revolving land account that the transit authority will use to acquire properties for development.

Open house displays Fraser Mills plans.

It doesn’t appear changes to a massive development along the Fraser River in Coquitlam have dampened interest from residents and perspective buyers.

Dozens of residents from around the Tri-Cities turned out to an open house Wednesday night in Maillardville to see the changes proposed for the Fraser Mills development in Coquitlam.

Parking Cap for Condos Gets Cool Reception at Metro

Surrey Leader – Parking cap for condos gets cool reception at Metro.

A trend towards less vehicle ownership and fewer people driving has prompted Metro Vancouver officials to recommend caps on how many parking spaces are built into new apartment and condo buildings, particularly those near public transit.

A survey by Metro staff found strata buildings have 18 to 35 per cent more parking stalls than are actually required by residents – a vast waste of unused space.
