38-storey Tower Planned for Nelson Avenue

Burnaby NewsLeader – 38-storey tower planned for Nelson Avenue.

A 38-storey apartment tower with three-storey townhouses is being proposed for a site comprised of 6530 and 6550 Nelson Ave. in Burnaby’s Metrotown area.

Both parcels are currently occupied with older low-rise apartment buildings in fair condition, one built in 1968, the other in 1970, according to a city staff report.

The developer, Concord Pacific Developments Inc., also recently consolidated and rezoned the site directly to the south to allow a 35-storey high-rise condominium tower with townhouses fronting onto Nelson and Dunblane avenues.

Tower Eyed for Corner of Cooney and Lansdowne

Richmond Review – Tower eyed for corner of Cooney and Lansdowne.

A proposal that would dramatically change the appearance of a busy corner in downtown Richmond is awaiting city council’s approval.

CCM Investment Group Ltd. wants to built a 47-metre (154-foot) tower at 8380 Lansdowne Rd. The site is at the corner of Lansdowne and Cooney roads, across from Lansdowne Centre mall.

Proposed is a 12-storey residential tower over a three-storey parkade, designed by IBI Group. Contained in the development is 131 homes, 7,044 square feet of restaurant space and 2,915 square feet of retail room. One large restaurant is proposed to anchor the corner of the development, while a smaller restaurant would front Lansdowne Road.

Burnaby NewsLeader – First Station Square tower in Burnaby sells out in hours.

The first tower at the Station Square redevelopment sold out in three-and-a-half hours Saturday.

Some of the 269 units had already been sold to family and friends of the developers over the last few weeks and the lineup for buyers for the remaining units started at 6:30 a.m. that day, according to Greg Zayadi, director of residential sales and marketing for Anthem Properties, which is developing the project with Beedie Living.
